Awkwafina
Awkwafina has been described as an American actor and performer who started her career through smart raps that addressed sexuality and racial identities with an edgy, comical perspective. She then expanded into Hollywood. Nora Lum was born to Chinese-Korean immigrants who resided in Forest Hills Queens. Her first encounter with music was via the trumpet. In the following years, she took up the classical and hip-hop genres. In school, she concentrated on the field of journalism as well as women's studies. She studied Mandarin during a time in Beijing. Her focus shifted towards music after she finished her studies. The year 2012 saw My Vag (as a retort to Mickey Avalon's My Dick) became an internet sensation and featured in her debut album Yellow Ranger. The album also included songs that were viral such as body-positive Queef or winking hometown tour the city of New York Bitche$. The final track was linked directly to Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide, which was released in the year 2015. Following a career that was successful as a musician She took on the role of an actor. Along with early series like Girl Code, Tawk and Bad Rap she also appeared in films like Neighbors as well as Storks. In the year 2018, her breakout performances included Dude Ocean's 8, along with Crazy Rich Asians. The EP was released in June.
